CH41: Birth of Nightmare Land!
“Ha-ha-ha! You’re making good money and the food’s good too!”
“Ufufufufufu, my channel subscriptions are going up too! I’m going to monetize it and get paid for ads!”
It’s been a day since we took the city of Helheim. Sil and I went to a restaurant in the city and ate katsudon (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice) while we rejoiced in our mutual success.
I get real money from Pope Gregorion’s stash of gold and Sil gets publicity from secretly filming prison break videos. I heard that once you have a certain number of subscribers, you can get paid based on the number of views your videos get. Maybe I should try it too.
Sil asks with a grain of rice on her cheek.
“But Demon Lord, couldn’t you have squeezed a little more out of the management? We found a lot of holes in the system…”
“No, to be honest with you, I’m sure they’re starting with very little money, so it’s best to go easy on them. Besides, if we reduce the amount of gold circulating in the city of Helheim too much, we’ll be in trouble later on.”
“Oh yeah. This is a town in the hardest area of the city right now, so players won’t come here for now. I think we should hold off until the players start dropping money.”
I nod at Syl’s words.
Now that I have the ownership of the shop standing there along with the land rights, my menu window now has a new section called [Check Owned Stores…]. is added to my menu window.
Like Françoise, the dressmaker, who had a store, she had a business to run. I got hundreds of stores at once.
When I looked at the sales and expenditures of the stores using this function, I found that when store A made money, store B purchased materials and sundries, and when store B made money, store C purchased materials and sundries… and so on. It was like that, the money was circulating in a weirdly orderly way.
As long as the player doesn’t interfere, the system is supposed to manage the game in a balanced way behind the scenes through the shopkeeper NPCs. It would be too much of a burden on the player to run the game so aggressively in-game. And logging in time is limited.
“Well, I’ll leave the management to the system and the NPCs. I’ll just have to prepare for the battle event in five days.
“That’s true. The Demon Lord’s got such a big guild stronghold… there’s an opinion going around on the message boards that the guilds should join forces and attack Yuri’s place first… There’s an opinion going around that we should join forces with other guilds and attack Yuri first. We went on a rampage in the last battle event, after all…”
“Oh, by the way, what were you doing at the last battle event? Weren’t you in the first one I entered?”
“Oh, there you are, you outlandish player! You were burned to death by that Gigantic Dragon Plant’s laser!”
Sylko-san is angry with tears in her eyes. Oh, she died that time.
“Oh, well… Yeah, that’s great!”
“Disgusting! I’m going to make you so active in the next event that you won’t have a part in it! I’m going to go level up!”
Syl runs out of the shop with a red sword in her hand. I’m glad to see you’re so motivated.
All right, let’s get ready to fight. First we need to check on the guild.
Open the menu screen and tap the newly added [Manage Guilds…]. which is newly added in the menu.

Among the various items, I smile when I see [Number of trained monsters deployed.] and you smile.
In the guild base, even if the guild is built in the city, a special system is applied, such as being able to deal damage to intruders, but there was a feature that allowed up to 9999 monsters to be placed. But there was a feature that allowed you to place up to 9999 monsters in a guild base.
And even if an NPC or a monster in a cooperative state died inside the base, they would be revived after a day. For the first time, the disadvantaged Summoner is being treated well here.
So now there are as many as 825 monsters walking around in Hellheim, including NPCs’ monsters.
If we had used an ordinary house as our guild home, we would not have been able to do this…
“Okay, we know what we’re going to do. I’m going to fight and collect monsters! I also want to go back to fighting with that skinhead again, and I need to do something about the problem with my [Obsession] skill being weakened!”
I’d also like to update my equipment, get some guild members, and learn from Sil to do some video streaming.
So much to do, so exciting. I pay the wobbly shopkeeper NPC and head out of town as fast as I can.
