Bad boy?
Kaho says that about herself, but I don’t know what she’s talking about.
Kaho was always a kind and gentle girl.
In fact, both in junior high school and now in high school, Kaho is trusted by everyone around her.
Kaho walks naturally to the back room.
There’s a water harpist in the closet in that room.
Kaho turned her back to me and looked out the window.
Kaho says, “I’m not going to change my appearance.
“Yuki got mad at me.”
That’s unusual.
Yuki is Kaho’s best friend, and she is rather timid.
I’ve hardly ever seen Yuki so angry at Kaho.
If Yuki is angry, it’s probably because of something important.
It was a while ago. After I rejected Haruto’s confession, he got mad at me. Yuki said that I’d made him think I was mistaken and that I’d hurt him.
Surprising.
Yuki helped me to get close to Kaho so that I could talk to her again after my confession, but I didn’t know that she had said that to Kaho.
“I’ve been with Haruto since elementary school, and I took it for granted. So I didn’t think anything of it when we went home together or hung out or had dinner in my room. But Haruto was different, wasn’t he?”
You want me to say it?
I could feel my face tighten up.
Our paths crossed long before he confessed.
Kaho thought I was just a good childhood friend, and I had a crush on her.
I know that. I don’t need you to confirm it now.
Kaho opens the window and sits on the window sill.
A cold wind blew in from outside and shook the skirt of Kaho’s sailor suit.
“Yuki said… She said, ”If you keep acting like a spoiled child and staying in Haruto’s room until late at night, it wouldn’t be surprising if Aki-kun pushes you down.”
“I’ve never pushed you down, and I never intended to push you down.”
“I wonder if that’s true. Do you know the saying, ‘Love begins with the contact of the soul and ends with the contact of the mucous membrane’?”
“What’s that?”
“It’s a French saying. A man and a woman become lovers when they get to know each other. Then they kiss and have sex. Then love is over.”
Kaho said the words “sex.” I blushed a little.
Kaho giggles.
“Did you just imagine having sex with me?”
I didn’t do that.
“But Haruto likes me, right?”
What do you mean?
“So that means you want to have sex with me.”
I’m so fucking pissed.
I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I didn’t mean it like that when I confessed to Kaho.
But it doesn’t mean I don’t want to kiss Kaho.
That’s not all, but I’m just a normal high school boy, so I was hoping that such a thing would happen in the future.
So we can’t totally deny what Kaho said.
As if seeing through my inner thoughts, Kaho continues.
It’s not that Haruto had some lewd intentions or anything. After all, the goal of love is to touch someone and satisfy your sexual desires. There’s nothing beyond that.”
“I don’t know what you mean, Kaho.”
“I don’t understand love. I can’t imagine myself kissing Haruto or having sex with him. Why can’t we just be friends?”
“I wanted to have a different relationship with Kaho. I wanted to be special to her.”
I think I said something rather embarrassing.
I blushed and didn’t say anything.
When she rejected my confession, Kaho only said, “We’re like siblings.” That’s all she said.
But I didn’t know you were thinking this.
Kaho looked up at the ceiling.
I knew I shouldn’t have come to this room.
No, I’m not.
“But just talking like this is hurting Haruto.”
Kaho gives a troubled and sad smile.
And Kaho took the key to this room out of her pocket.
I have to give this key back. It’s not right for me to have it. I’m sorry, I won’t come back.
“Kaho doesn’t like me?”
Kaho shook her head.
Of course not. I still want to be friends with you. I want to play with you and eat with you. I want to come to this room and play games with you.
“But that means you’re not going out with me.”
“That’s why I’m a bad girl. That’s not the only reason I’m a bad girl, but I’ll give you the key back anyway.”
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Kaho.
We’ve always been just childhood friends, and if you’d asked me if we couldn’t be friends, I wouldn’t have said no.
I almost told him he didn’t have to return the key.
Then…
There was a noise in the closet.
By the way, Suikin-san, you’re naked and wet.
If we don’t do something soon, this cold’s gonna get worse.
But I can’t tell Kaho to go home as soon as possible in this mood.
If it weren’t for Suikoto-san, I’d tell Kaho that we should go to her room and play a game together.
When I was in trouble, Kaho said, “Huh?” She mumbled.
Natsuho picked up the bottle that had fallen in a corner of the room.
This is women’s lotion, right?
“Oh, yeah.”
Whose?
“Ameon-sama’s…”
“Ame-san, are you back? Why didn’t you tell me? I miss you so much.
After saying that, Kaho awkwardly muttered, “I’m not qualified to say that…” She mumbled.
Kaho and her sister Ame are rather close, and in the past, Ame used to take good care of Kaho.
Anyway, that lotion is a big fat lie about your sister’s rain sound.
It’s supposed to be Ms. Suikoto’s.
The next thing I know, there’s a sneeze coming from the closet.
Kaho looked a little perplexed.
Did you just hear a voice in the closet?
It’s just my imagination.
“Haruto, did you by any chance pick up a dog and keep it in the closet?”
I’m afraid it’s not a dog, it’s a human girl.
And she’s a beautiful girl who’s a classmate of mine. I can’t tell her I’m keeping her.
When I denied it, Kaho simply nodded in agreement.
Good.
Crisis averted.
But.
“By the way, are there any books in this closet that I lent you? I think there’s one that I haven’t gotten back yet.”
Saying that, Kaho opened the closet door as fast as she could.
